The type descriptions, as established in article 14 of the Studbook and Registration Regulations, at the general meeting on January 24, 2009 and April 18, 2009. Published March 11, 2020, the modified descriptions as these will be presented in the next GMM (October 2020)
All Tinkers presented for inspection are, prior to the assessment by the jury, since 2004, classified in type and assessed on "being in type". This refers to how well the animal approaches the ideal type image.
Tinkers who are awarded 70 points or more for type have a chance of a star predicate if at least 210 points are obtained during the inspection. Tinkers who achieve a minimum of 75 points on type can be offered for promotion to a model statement.
Short description:
The grai is luxurious and should have refinement throughout the body, front, middle and hindquarters. More sporty with a vertical neckline.
With sufficient sock, sufficient to much tail and mane so that it remains breed-typical.
Movement is active and preferably load-bearing.
Colour
Regularly colored. However, all colors are allowed.
head
Small and noble with wide nostrils, a long mouth slit and a broad forehead. Ram's heads occur sporadically, but are less desirable in this type.
Eyes
Speaking, large expressive eyes. Moon eyes and crescent eyes allowed. The distance between the eyes is wide.
ears
Well placed so standing erect, not too close together, pointing forward and small to normal in size, regular with slightly curled tips.
Jaws and throat
Jaws are sufficiently pronounced, matching the head. Throat passage must have space.
Neck
Good and medium in length. Neck set-up that likes to lean more towards the vertical. The neck should be well muscled and set sufficiently high from the chest. A lower neck is not liked.
withers
Sufficient to good development at the withers and runs in a smooth transition from back to neck.
Shoulder
Good length and preferably placed at an angle. A more oblique shoulder is desirable. (more than the medium Cob, heavy Cob and the Vanner)
front legs
The legs must be hard and dry and also correctly placed. The legs are nice
and thus matches the overall refined appearance of this type. Seen from the front, perpendicular with a hoof width gap.
Seen from the side perpendicular to the fetlock, the pastern at an angle of 45 degrees to the ground. The leg of the front leg not too long, the pastern sufficiently long
The normal to fine joints are well developed, especially dry and visible.
Back and loins
Length of the back appropriate to the type. Strong and well connected. Back and loins should be muscled. Tendency to a slightly longer back is allowed.
Chest
Sufficient front so spacious but not too wide.
ribs
Spacious vaulted. Spine should not be visible.
crotch
Sufficient to good in length and slightly sloping in terms of location. Sufficiently broad and muscular, but not too round.
hind legs
The legs must be hard and dry and also placed correctly. The legs are fine and thus match the overall refined appearance of this type. Correct position seen from behind. Seen from the side well placed and strong. The shank must be sufficiently long and muscular. The normal to fine joints are well developed, but mostly dry. The hocks should be flat and dry. The angle at the hocks should be about 150 degrees. The pastern makes an angle of about 55 degrees with respect to the bottom.
Hooves
The feet should be evenly shaped, the hooves hard and fine.
Wallpaper legs
A little less spacious than normal, but the more present, the better.
moons
Normal to ample. Frequently seen is a silky structure that can decrease the thickness, but length is welcome.
Tail
Normal to well-presented, but the more present, the better. Frequently seen a silky structure.
Movement
A powerful, load-bearing, stretching movement, purely tactful, in which every joint is used sufficiently well.
Short description:
Robust, round, sturdy and compactly built horse with a calm and confident appearance.

Sufficiently wide set neck, sufficient to good length, with a vertical set-up.
May come slightly deep from the chest with a vertically leaning set-up.
Underneck is not liked. Adult stallions have a tendency to have a heavy mane comb.
withers
Sufficient to good development at the withers and runs in a smooth transition from back to neck.
Flat withers are spotted.
Shoulder
Mostly good in length and preferably placed obliquely.
front legs
The legs must be hard and dry. The legs are preferably heavy, but appropriate to the type. The forelegs well placed so seen from the front perpendicular with a hoof width between them. Seen from the side perpendicular to the fetlock, the pastern at an angle of 45 degrees to the ground. The leg of the foreleg not too long, the pastern sufficiently long. The joints well developed, dry and clearly visible.
Back and loins
Length of the back matching the whole. Strong and well connected. Back and loins should be muscled.
Chest
Normal to broad in construction. Sufficient front and mass. Sufficiently spacious chest.
ribs
Spacious vaulted. Spine should not be visible.
crotch
Sufficient to good in length and slightly sloping in terms of location. Sufficiently broad and muscular.
hind legs
The legs must be hard and dry and also correctly placed. The legs are preferably heavy, but appropriate to the whole. Seen from the side, well-positioned and strong. The shank should be sufficiently long and muscular. The joints well developed, but mainly dry. The hocks should be large, flat and dry. The angle at the hock joints should be about 150 degrees. The pastern makes an angle of about 55 degrees with respect to the bottom.
Hooves
The feet should be evenly shaped, the hooves hard.

Normal to much, appropriate to the type, abundant wallpaper is welcome.
moons
Normal to much, appropriate to the type, profuse moons are welcome.

Speaking, friendly big eyes full of expression. Clear glance. The distance between the eyes is wide. Moon eyes and crescent eyes allowed.
ears
Well placed so stand upright, not too close together, point forward and are normal to slightly larger in length.
Jaws and throat
Jaws are prominent, matching the overall build of the horse. Throat passage must have space.
Neck
Predominantly a heavy, set-on neck of sufficient to good length. Neck set-up is normal or leans more towards a horizontal set-up. The neck should not be poorly muscled and should come out sufficiently high from the chest. A lower neck is not liked. Adult stallions have a tendency to have a heavy mane comb.
withers
Sufficient to good development at the withers and especially gradually overflowing in the back.
Flat withers occur.
Shoulder
Mainly medium to long and often steep in terms of location.
front legs
The legs must be hard and dry. The legs are preferably heavy, but appropriate to the type. The forelegs are correctly placed, so when viewed from the front, they are perpendicular with a hoof width between them. Seen from the side perpendicular to the fetlock, the pastern at an angle of 45 degrees to the ground. The leg of the foreleg not too long, the pastern sufficiently long. The joints well developed, firm, clearly visible and above all dry.
